Aquablation: Changing Lives at CRMC

Aquablation, a new treatment offered at Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC), is helping sufferers of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasion (BPH) or enlarged prostate regain control of how they sleep, travel and live.

Such is the case for CRMC patient John Farill.

A veteran, traveler, and active member of his community, Farill’s independence was limited by BPH.

He stated, “Before the procedure, I was having to get up 4-5 times in the night to visit the bathroom. Road trips were difficult. The way I lived daily was negatively impacted by BPH. Now, I sleep better and the bathroom visits have been cut down drastically, to one per night. I would recommend Aquablation to anyone suffering for BPH that is a candidate for the procedure. It has changed my life.”

Aquablation is a minimally invasive robotic surgery designed to treat BPH using a high-veloctiy, heat-free jet of sterile water guided by real-time ultrasound to precisely remove excess prostate tissues, offering long-lasting relief and fewer side effects compared to traditional treatment options.

Mr. Farill credits his physician, Dr. Hunter Lambert, with making the process easy.

“I love Dr. Lambert. The level of care and clear communication I received from him was beyond anything I could have expected. Dr. Lambert and Aquablation have improved my overall quality of life, tremendously,” he said.

With a quick, low-pain recovery for most patients, and dramatic results, Aquablation is altering the courses of those facing BPH right here in the Upper Cumberland.

On this, Dr. Lambert stated, “Introducing Aquablation means our patients no longer have to travel elsewhere for state-of-the-art prostate care. Aquablation uses advanced, image-guided technology to treat enlarged prostates. Aquablation is rewarding because it that is both effective and precise, and helps men maintain urinary and sexual function. This can truly impact day-to-day quality of life.”

Dr. Lambert is accepting patients and is located at 320 N. Oak Ave. in Cookeville, Tenn.
