SUPPORT GROUPS
Being diagnosed with cancer, as well as living through and beyond treatment, can be a very stressful experience.
Studies have shown that support groups can reduce isolation, anxiety and stress.
Support groups are safe places to share your experiences and connect with others who may be facing the same challenges. By attending support groups, you can connect with others also dealing with cancer, talk openly about your feelings, receive practical advice, share resources and contacts and better understand and be able to describe your experience and develop coping skills.
They can also improve mood, self-image and the ability to cope.
Cookeville Regional has different support groups, from smoking cessation to breast cancer support and more.
