David Justice Celebrity Guest for Tenth Annual CRMC Golf Classic

This year the Cookeville Regional Golf Classic celebrates its tenth year. Since the tournament was first organized ten years ago by a group of ten hospital employees, the CRMC Annual Golf Classic has evolved into one of the premier charity golf tournaments in the Upper Cumberland raising over $445,007 in net proceeds to assist countless individuals through the CRMC Foundation patient assistance funds.

For the fourth consecutive year, Larco Medical, Inc. is the presenting sponsor for Cookeville Regional Medical Center’s annual Golf Classic and Celebrity Dinner.   Major sponsors are Journey Financial Planning/Charles A. Sewell, CFP and Turner Universal.  All three sponsors have been long-time supporters of the tournament

Again this year the four-person scramble has been expanded to two days – Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17 at the Cookeville Golf Club with the dinner being held on Thursday evening at the Leslie Town Centre.   The celebrity guest will be former Major League Baseball and Atlanta Braves player David Justice who will speak at the dinner and will attend the Golf Classic.  The dinner event will be open to the public with a limited number of tickets available for sale at $60 each or $400 for a table of eight.  Tickets must be purchased prior to the event – no tickets will be available at the door.

The CRMC Golf Classic is the main public fundraiser of CRMC and the CRMC Foundation supporting patient assistance priorities.  Funds raised through this event and other events, along with direct donations have allowed the CRMC Foundation to assist more than 790 uninsured or underinsured patients with much needed assistance totaling over $193,000 this past year alone.  Funds benefiting from the CRMC Golf Classic include the Cancer Care Fund providing assistance to local cancer patients so they may continue their treatments and maintain a healthy home experience during trying times; the Caring Hands Fund helping other patients at CRMC with basic needs upon discharge – assisting with prescription medications that might not be covered by insurance or other payment sources; and, the Save-A-Life Pink Ribbon Project providing free mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women in our area who would otherwise forego this important cancer screening. Donations to all three of these funds and the CRMC Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
