Mammography Tech

Education: A. Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. B. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and C. Be certified in Mammography. Must be certified in Bone Densitometry. Must have and maintain certification in Basic Life Support
Hours: Varied
Experience: Must have three years of experience as a Mammographer, two years experience with Bone Densitometry. Stereotactic Biopsy experience preferred. Previous experience with QA/QC preferred.
Skills: A. Must have working knowledge of ACR positioning skills and quality assurance standards. B. Must have ability and knowledge to adapt to various mammography modalities. C. Must be capable of excellent customer service in line with the Vision Statement of CRMC.

This position is responsible for working directly with patients and assisting radiologist while administering ionizing radiation in the course of mammography procedures. This professionally trained person will be responsible for the operation of the mammography system, Technologist Workstation, Secureview, CAD, MRS, Digitizer, PAC’s, Bone Densitometer, pulse oximeter, sphygmomanometer, tympanic thermometer, Vacuum assisted Biopsy system, specimen imaging system and Stereotactic equipment. This position is responsible for providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards. This position is responsible for performing a variety of basic secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as customer service, examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval, maintaining Quality Control according to MQSA and ACR standards, maintaining supplies, infection control and providing education and support services for our patients. This position in addition to superb technical skills will also require the ability to follow the CRMC service commitments to customers and fellow staff.  The Advanced Women’s Imaging Technologist satisfies all requirement of Women’s Imaging technologist job description. In addition, this position is required, on occasion, to make decisions, monitor mh/st, review procedures and outside cases with radiologist, and enter Pathology reports into PACS in Chief
