Every baby’s birth is special at CRMC. Physicians, nurse midwives and our staff of experienced OB nurses coach and support expectant parents as they go through the birthing process.

We want to give you the flexibility to create the most unique, family-centered birthing experience available. We respect your values, your concerns and your wishes, so our staff works hard to keep you comfortably in charge of your own childbirth experience. You can choose from an experienced staff of obstetricians, family practitioners, certified nurse midwives and pediatricians who, along with our labor and delivery nurses, provide you personal attention and easy accessibility combined with state-of-the-art technology.

Pre- and post-natal education is offered by CRMC’s Obstetrical Department as parents prepare for new challenges. We encourage you to be an active participant in your care. That task is much easier if you are fully informed of your options and understand the natural processes of the birthing process. Our childbirth education classes are taught by experienced obstetrical nurses and enhance your knowledge of labor, delivery and recovery. The topics of anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, relaxation techniques, Lamaze breathing, exercise, medications and pain relief options are all covered. The series also touches basic infant care and self-care for the postpartum period.

Cookeville Regional would like to invite any expecting parents to join in a 4 week series of Childbirth & Baby Care course. Childbirth information is covered in the first 3 classes ( pushing & breathing techniques, Signs & Symptons of labor and a tour of the OB unit)the 4th class covers Baby Care information & 1 hour on breastfeeding. The first 3 classes are held on Monday nights from 7p -9p in the CRMC Education center, room 3. The 4th class is held on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6p - 8p.
