Surgery at Cookeville Regional is a comprehensive department of over 135 staff and 40 surgeons offering surgical services in the areas of ENT, General Surgery, Vascular, Thoracic, Open Heart, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Plastics, Urology, Neurosurgery, Gynecology, and Oral Surgery.

Cookeville Regional has 10 fully equipped operating rooms, performing procedures from each of these services Monday through Friday. In addition, a qualified team of nurses and technicians are on call for emergencies seven days a week. Over 5,500 surgeries are performed at Cookeville Regional each year.

Our Surgery Department continues to grow as we support the 40 exceptionally trained and committed surgeons on staff at Cookeville Regional. Our team works closely with them in a continuous effort to improve the surgical care we provide patients.

The Same Day Surgery Unit at Cookeville Regional is a 31-bed unit, with all private rooms for outpatient surgeries and/or procedures. Hours of operation are 5:30 a.m. -10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Same Day area serves an average of 35 outpatient surgery patients each day.

Over 130 licensed professionals serve the surgical needs of our patients in the Same Day Surgery Unit. The skills and experience of our nursing staff and their ability to adapt to new physicians and procedures assures patients of consistent quality care.
