Outpatient Rehabilitation / Physical Therapy

Cookeville Regional offers a variety of physical rehabilitation services to meet the therapy needs of residents throughout the Upper Cumberland.

Cookeville Regional's Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, located on West 6th Street, features a spacious gym area with weight lifting and aerobic equipment, a variety of pain relieving modalities, plus machines capable of isokinetic and functional capacity testing. Our center also has a private whirlpool area for treatment of wounds and burns, as well as a private pediatric and speech therapy treatment areas. We are able to provide therapy services for a variety of ages - from infants up to the frail elderly. We can also provide ergonomic consultation and job-site assessment services for business and industry.

Our highly qualified staff includes talented physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other allied health personnel. Many of our staff have gained advanced training to become Certified Hand Therapists, Certified Functional Capacity Evaluators, and Sports Medicine Physical Therapists with Athletic Training certification.

Cookeville Regional also provides certified athletic trainers (ATCs) to local area high schools including Cookeville High, Upperman High, Monterey High, Clarkrange High, and Jackson County High. This is a community service provided free of charge to these schools and their community by Cookeville Regional. These ATCs provide athletic event emergency coverage and injury management for student athletes.

The acute care rehabilitation department in the medical center provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services to patients who have had strokes, orthopedic surgeries, wounds, and other acute injuries or illnesses. This department also has the distinction of offering a Physical Therapist certified as a wound care specialist.
