This position assists with the management of CV Service Line patients. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will assist with patients that have been admitted into the CV Service by the cardiologists or CV surgeons or when the CV Service Line Physicians have been consulted by other physicians. The Nurse Practitioner may assist the CV Service Line Physicians with admission of patients, patient rounds, consults, history and physicals, discharges and other duties with their scope of practice. Demonstrates a knowledge of the psychosocial needs, clinical assessment implications, and/or consequences of technology EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Masters program. Evidence of continuing education. Current unrestricted Tennessee licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse and RN. Must hold a national Certification in a Nursing Specialty Area. EXPERIENCE: Prefer 1-3 years NP experience with cardiac patients in acute hospital setting. Previous experience as RN in ICU or cardiac step-down. SKILLS: ACLS, Prescriptive Authority (DEA Number), proficient in clinical skills of assessment of Cardiac patients. Abides by agreed upon protocol for patient care and possess good communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of computer use. |

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Oversees the work of other professional and non-professional personnel. EDUCATION: Graduate of a school of professional nursing. Current Tennessee RN license. EXPERIENCE: At least three years in acute care, with 2 of those being in a critical care setting SKILLS: BLS upon hire or during orientation. ACLS, PALS, and Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire or within one year. CRITICAL CARE floats must have completed the critical care course within two years of hire. |
