Cardiac Catherization Unit

 This position is responsible for meeting the needs of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The technologist will assist the physician as a scrub assistant, procedure circulator, recording technician, and as needed in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab or any other area. The technician will engage in learning and assisting in invasive and non-invasive cardiac testing. The technician will develop a working knowledge of all equipment and procedures utilized in the care of the cardiac patient.

 EDUCATION:

 High School Diploma or G.E.D.

1. BLS Certification required
2. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology        preferred.

 2.         EXPERIENCE:

A.        Previous Cath Lab experience preferred

B.        Previous Scrub Experience required.

C.        Working knowledge of sterile surgical technique required.

D.        One year experience with direct patient care required.

E.         One year experience working with computer systems such as windows and word perfect.

 3.         SKILLS:

A.        General ability to use computers

B.        Sterile technique or knowledge of sterile technique

C.        General understanding of Medical Terminology

D.        Good reading skills
