Description:

This position is responsible for the nursing/Lab tech care of the Center patients,  These activities include day to day supervision and room scheduling of staff, assisting departmentdirector with staff development and evaluation, assisting with development of policies and procedures, performing data collection and analysis, performance improvement and coordination of supplies and equipment.  Acts as a liaison between the nursing/Lab tech staff, physicians and administration to improve and maintain quality and safe patient care. Provides patient care as required and takes appropriate share of workload.  Performs other duties as assigned. 

1. EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing. Current Tennessee RN License. Evidence of continuing education. IV qualified. Chemotherapy Certified. ACLS/ within one year of hire. Oncology Certification required.

2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 year in a Cancer Center setting, two years of management experience preferred

 

3. SKILLS: Flexible, knowledgeable regarding comprehensive care of oncology management of patients.  Demonstrates management skills and/or attitude.  Past Charge RN experience required.  Ability to perform Cancer Center Nursing Skills.  Ability to coordinate staffing and patient census in a multidisciplinary department. Ability to supervise, plan, organize and motivate the activities of staff to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of quality and safe cancer care. Description:

The Oncology Staff will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years).  This position is responsible for providing unit secretary support in the clinical settings of the Cancer Center.

1. EDUCATION: Minimum of high school diploma with business-related subjects; Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology  required.

2. EXPERIENCE: At least one year experience in medical office setting required. Previous employment in an oncology clinic or hospital setting desirable.

3. SKILLS: Excellent customer service skills required. Must possess general knowledge of clinical aspect of oncology care, office procedures, typing skills, knowledge of office equipment. Proficient with computers and medical terminology. Must be a strong team player and able to manage multiple tasks and function independently.  Must be able to adapt to changing work environment and work well under pressure. Must have excellent communication skills and be highly organized.

Description:

The Oncology Staff will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years).  This position is responsible for accurately administering radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.  Assists as a liaison between patient physician and nursing staff.  Explains treatment procedures to patients and their family members when asked.  Reinforces recommendations and instructions to the patient concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiation area.

1. EDUCATION:  Graduate of accredited school of Radiation Therapy.  Certified with American Registry Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology (ARRT).

2. EXPERIENCE:  Registry or registry eligible as RTT.  Two years working experience in Radiation Therapy Preferred.

3. SKILLS: Knowledge in Radiation Oncology, the principles governing radiation safety, use, and application of radiation to the healing arts.  Ability to operate all equipment in the department necessary in providing patient treatments, able to handle incapacitated and difficult patients, and remain calm in a crisis situation.

Description:

The Oncology Staff will work with the following age groups based upon individual responsibility, training, and competency: Adults (age 18 years- 64 years) and Geriatrics’ (age 65 + years).  This position is responsible for oncology financial processes including initial benefit investigation for Cancer Center treatment including patient insurance parameters/co-pay/out of pockets and one on one financial impact statement review with patients, Patient Assistance/patient financial resource program coordinator,  medical record requests to support oncology claims from insurances/RAC/HCC, taking patient payments, obtaining authorization/pre-certification, financial counseling for patients, other billing support duties and daily account activation/add on registration for unscheduled visits.

1. EDUCATION: Minimum of high school diploma with business-related subjects. Knowledge of third party billing and /ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines. Knowledge of insurance industry. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence.

                       

2. EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years experience in medical office billing with oncology specialty experience preferred. Knowledge of third party payment systems, Electronic Medical Record use. 

 

3. SKILLS: Excellent communication skills required. Must possess strong knowledge of general billing, knowledge of hospital based billing software. Proficient knowledge of computers and able to use Microsoft office products. Must have a complete command of medical terminology, the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team, manage multiple tasks and function independently. Must be able to adapt to changing work environment and work well under pressure. Must work well with patients have excellent customer service skills. Independent judgment required to work with the oncology team to manage patient understanding of out of pocket costs for oncology care, and acquisition of drug/co-pay/foundation assistance for both the patient and medical center for financial success.

Description:

Provides genetic counseling to patients as well as counseling and coordination of services for other screening programs.    Genetic counselor works with the care team(s) to identify patients who may be candidates for cancer genetic testing.  Discuss the risks and benefits of genetic testing .

Assists with the development, implementation and coordination of all genetic counseling, screening, testing and follow-up for specific patient populations.  Supports the development and promotion of the program through education to the lay and medical community.  Functions as a resources to  other members of the health care team.  Consults with physicians and other health care providers and makes recommendations for appropriate services  and patient health care management.  May also participate in other research activities as directed

1. EDUCATION: Master’s degree in an accredited genetic program required.   

2. EXPERIENCE: Three years or more of experience in cancer genetic counseling preferred.

3. LICENSURE/CERTIFCICATION: Certified gentetic counselor, American Board of Genetic Counseling required or obtained within one year of hire.

4. SKILLS: Exercises sound judgement, demonstrates problem solving skills, and utilizes excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to communicate to all levels of personnel, management, physicians, families and patients.  Must be able to establish effective working relationships with multiple levels and departments, divisions within the organization.

 

Demonstrate substantial organizational skills to manage multiple departmental activities.  Excellent skills in collaboratin with other departmetns and physician office staff.
