This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Oversees the work of other professional and non-professional personnel. 1. EDUCATION: Graduate of a school of professional nursing. Current Tennessee RN license. (See Unit Specific Requirements) 2. EXPERIENCE: Experience in acute care nursing preferred. (See Unit Specific Requirements) 3. SKILLS: (See Unit Specific competency skills list) BLS required at hire or during orientation, IV Qualified (See Unit Specific Requirements)

Description:

This position is responsible for all secretarial and receptionist duties and coordination of related activities of the nursing station, including coordination of critical communication between physicians, nursing, patients, families, and other health team members.  Position requires utilization of computer, verbal and written skills.

 EDUCATION:  High school diploma (or GED).

 EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in a health care setting preferred. Basic computer skills.

 SKILLS: Familiarity with medical terminology preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills.  Able to read and write English.  Computer data entry.
